Sometimes to find a nugget of truth you just have to look inside. It doesn't do you any good just looking at a book. You have to read it. You can't just surf the Netflix catalog forever. Well, actually my dating experience says a lot of you can. But you get the point. I find that a large majority of people don't look beyond the surface of things. I'm not talking about rabbit holes or conspiracy theories. I'm talking about delving deeper into the vast amounts of information we have at our disposal to answer questions about motivations, trends, triggers, consequences, or any number of other factors. So often we cling to ideas, or follow the ideas of others, blindly. On this train, you're allowed to look as deep as you want. Scrutinize every detail. But that is also not going to get you anywhere. Action is. And that action is usually going to involve listening to others, opening that book, watching that movie, and finding out if it has any substance. Or if you're like me you can just go looking for substance in everything. In the face of truth or new information, allow yourself to realign your opinions. The best thing anyone can do for themselves is open the door for change. You've got to grow sometimes, give yourself space. Trim those dead leaves. Things that don't serve you well, things that don't always hold true, things that hold you back from your potential. Believe me, allowing yourself to realign your thoughts with what you truly believe in is a gift only you can give yourself. Now there is a final part of the equation. If you'd like to solve humanity's riddles. You're going to have to look in places you don't really feel comfortable, don't want to look, don't find interesting, or just don't want to spend time looking. This is why some people just don't care to think about it themselves. Sometimes we just cling tightly to the ideas of people that say inflammatory or reactive things because it isn't something we would say ourselves. There are talking heads and icons in every part of society where affiliations can be made. Industries, movements, politics, you name it. As we travel closer to 2025, I'd love to see more open and honest discussions about our true intentions and how we expect to achieve them. Not on a political level or anything. Oh, Lord no. We all need a break from that. But on a personal one. As family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, or whatever relationships you have.

What can we do for each other?
