What is Joy?

I'm not particularly feeling joy right now. But I was thinking about what joy is anyway. It's sort of this silly feeling you get that makes you want to sing and dance like no one's looking. Even though they are. It makes you want to play pranks on your most loyal friends and give gifts to the people that support you at your weakest.
What a world we would live in if we all thought this way. For some people joy is a point of division. It's like someone decided to bump into you and say "watch where you're going punk". It really do be like that sometimes.
Joy, for us Christians, is a time honored tradition of flexing our spiritual muscles. Giving until it hurts. A lot of people will scowl at that thought. But it's the thought that counts.
Now, if you didn't already realize it there's a lot that goes into creating joy. It's part gratitude, part realization, and part epiphany. There's other parts too but those are the most important. They make up the bulk of the good stuff. And rightly so.
And joy is one of those things that's slightly multiplied when it's shared. Like the joy of a kiss, or a really good joke. It's just meant to be experienced. You can probably tell, I've been missing joy in my life. Sure, I share everything I have. And it feels great most of the time. But I don't have anyone to share it with. That's because I'm not really built for relationships. Not modern day ones anyway. Maybe a Bonnie and Clyde story is cute to you. But for me it's just heartbreak.
I'm more of a once in a lifetime kind of guy. Ambition, authenticity, honesty, and loads of sarcasm. That's what brings me joy. I don't know where she is but I hope her name's not Joy! Hopefully it starts with a "C". I shouldn't say that but I just love to keep people guessing.
See ya! Sayonara!
