How Do I Say This?

Listen, I suppose I owe you an explanation. About why my opinion matters. It's an eclectic set of rules, put forth by our founding fathers. Your opinion matters too! This I promise you.

See my endorsement of my preferred candidate is a sign of my intentions. It's a hard earned effort I fought for. Look, I'm not saying you didn't. I walked an hour to vote today, and I cherished every minute. I marched in line to a different drum, one that I invented.

See, I'm American. That's what I do. I cooperate with each of you. I fight by your side and I'll offer a ride, but I need you to know who is driving. You guessed it! My saviour! Look, I owe this guy a favor.

Walk like him and you'll get my vote. Talk like him, you'll impress me. Take his place and speak with hate? Lord please control me. I mean no harm I must confess but give our ears time to rest. Wipe these hate filled hearts so clean, show these people mercy.

I love you, I swear it. It's my greatest challenge yet. America the beautiful and everybody in it. From coast to coast and sea to sea, this land was made for you and me. I Love the state I live in. I love my community. If you don't have a vote I'm still fighting for our country. You see being American is actually quite easy. Live here, pay taxes, care about others.

It never had to rhyme. It just has to make sense. We need politicians that aren't on the fence. What's wrong is wrong and right is right, love your neighbor with all your might.

Signing off for now,

The Torchbearer
