The Hit and the Hurt

The train is still hurtling at breakneck speed toward oblivion. The rails screech like they are crying out when we go around certain sections of the track, and the track moves a little bit from time to time, but we are relatively safe. You're welcome to look out the windows and envision whatever you want. The Earth we live on, the infinite cosmos with all its stars, planets, and supernovae, or maybe it's a fantastical world in your mind that you dwell in (now don't spend too much time in there, project it outside and live in today). The purpose of todays piece is going to be to get you to stop lying. Stop lying to yourself, stop lying to your friends, stop lying to your enemies (unless it's a case of national security, then lie away). Sometimes the ends justify the means. But listen, it's not often. It's not often at all. It's a rare occurance. National security would be one of those reasons. Get it? Now, when you lie to me I see right through it. I may not say anything but God gives all who believe and follow in faith a gift that can't be seen. It not only makes it painfully obvious what you are doing, it makes you tattle on yourself as well. See we have some old sayings in America that don't actually mean what you think they do, and they are tools handed down from God above. Lying through your teeth. You see when someone lies to you knowingly, unashamed it's called lying through your teeth. There are other forms of this expression from the past but they have a commonality. When someone is known to lie through their teeth, listen to what they say when they turn around or go to leave. You see you can't lie to yourself really, and if you're not convinced about your own lies, the Lord forces you to speak the truth. Sometimes it will be a rude or distasteful remark, sometimes it will be like the Joker explaining his entire scheme to a tied up Batman. A lot of you already knew this, once you become aware of it, it seperates the truth tellers from the liars of this world. Once in a while a human so despicable (their behavior, not them) comes along and reminds us of all the idioms about lying all at once. I won't tell you all of the secrets we Christians have, but if you do your homework you might learn about some of Christianity's mysticism. I bet a lot of you didn't know about that. We told you God has gifts. It's right in the Bible guys, we didn't even try to hide it.

So here's a list of idioms about lying from American culture. It definitely makes me think of one political individual who can't seem to tell a truth. It's like his life force hinges on lying and trying to make himself appealing to those that worship hate. And it's not something we're seeing on both sides. Not this election cycle anyway. We got straight shooters, and we got the other guys. To spin a yarn - To tell a long and exaggerated story, often to deceive To talk through one’s hat - To speak nonsense or make up false information To be economical with the truth - To deliberately withhold or manipulate information to deceive someone To play fast and loose - To behave dishonestly or recklessly, often by disregarding rules or commitments To have a forked tongue - To be deceitful or insincere in speech, often by saying one thing and meaning another To weave a web of lies - To construct a complex network of deceitful stories or falsehoods To have one’s nose grow - To allude to the story of Pinocchio, where his nose grows longer when he tells a lie To butter someone up - To flatter or praise someone excessively, often to deceive or manipulate To bury one’s head in the sand - To ignore or deny unpleasant truths or realities To whitewash - To conceal or gloss over flaws or wrongdoing, often by presenting a misleadingly positive image To dodge the truth - To avoid answering questions directly or evading the truth To sugarcoat - To make something appear more favorable or pleasant than it is To tell a cock and bull story - To tell a far-fetched or unbelievable tale, often to deceive To beat a dead horse - To continue discussing or arguing about a point that has already been resolved or is irrelevant To cover one’s tracks - To hide or conceal evidence of one’s actions or wrongdoing To get caught with one’s hand in the cookie jar - To be caught in the act of doing something dishonest or deceitful To play the blame game - To shift responsibility or blame onto others instead of accepting it oneself NOW THE REASON THESE MEANINGS ARE IMPORTANT You're going to be hearing these terms more and more in politics and on social issues. I have set in motion a plan of attack to use the truth (love, dedication) to explain exactly what these talking heads are doing. How they are doing it. What their motivations may or may not be. You're going to hear these phrases in the media, we're bringing them back into the American lexicon. Learn these phrases and repeat after me: COMMIT THIS TO MEMORY and a litte Amen never hurt anyone either, you might even hear God whisper back "so it is written" or "so it shall be done". This means it was already happening and part of the plan. We won't be using these phrases or idioms to attack anybody, only point out its correlating behavior and examples of the meaning. The attack is to just use the phrases when it is plain to see. These phrases are going to hold more meaning than they used to. We're going to look deeper into what a person, or persons are saying when they use these tactics and we're going to delve into what makes them try to commandeer this train that we are on. Jesus is very curious exactly who thinks they are a better conductor than him. I'll be honest I'm curious too. Jesus is a really nice fellow, but he doesn't mince words. He's pretty creative too. Ever read how he talked to the Pharisees in the Bible? Jesus was a force to be reckoned with. He loved everyone and I suppose that was his super power because he could say all kinds of surprising, subversive, humbling things to people to get his point across. Jesus frequently employed insults. But listen closely, every insult Jesus used was true. He never slandered anyone, but he did accurately use hyperbole against his opponents. Slander is always wrong. One person CAN make a difference. I just did and you guys don't even know it yet. So as you catch a few minutes of the news, an online video of current events, or read an article about any of the world's goings-on, you're going to notice that I personally put some of these phrases back into our world. Now what's in the past was already there, I didn't put that there, God did. That's how he works. He already knew what I was going to do. But going forward, that's all me. And God gets all the credit. I take responsibility if there is any to take, He gets all the credit. Its as easy as it gets. You see, many of you don't know how true the Christian Bible is. that's ok. I'm not faulting anyone. It takes a lot of faith or a lot of experience to get to where I am today. Listen it wasn't faith for me. That came much later. It was experience, after experience, after experience. They led me right to Him. Once I accepted it as my personal belief and my relationship with God and Jesus became a personal one, one that I don't share with anyone because that's not how it works, everything fell into place. I submitted, rebuked, swore oaths, prayed, served, fought, and sacrificed for the Lord my God. Look at me, this is still who I am. I haven't changed in the least. I'm just more confident and have a lot more power than those that don't believe. I still fight for everyone and everything I ever held dear, I still love my neighbor with all my heart, and I still have dreams and Personal Legends I'd like to chase. Keep an eye on the media, you'll be hearing these phrases and they will mean something. Stay away from rabbit holes and try to view the media as a landscape. Go ahead and see what everyone has to say. There is no side that's going to brainwash you unless you let it. That's hogwash. Unfortunately, there is a sect of American voters that are willingly being brainwashed. We don't know how they are going to handle it when it becomes apparent. Even through all the foul behavior we have to accept them with open arms and tell them it's ok. Because it is, and it's going to be. God bless everyone of us
